Grind is a personal operating system for your life. It turns the things you want to do (exercise, study, build, create) into quests with XP rewards, skill trees, and streaks. The game mechanics are real: every number is calculated transparently, and all your data lives on your machine.

How it works

You create quests for the things you want to build into your life. Completing them earns XP: for your character overall, and for the specific skills that quest exercises. Do it consistently and your streak multiplies the reward. Prove you did it (with a timer, a git commit, or a message) and the proof multiplies it further. Your AI companion knows your quests, your progress, and your history. Ask it anything, let it suggest what to work on, or give it the autonomy to log things automatically. The Forge is an automation engine. It watches signals (a git push, a file change, a message from Telegram) and can complete quests, award XP, or send reminders without you doing anything.

Quests

A quest is a structured goal. There are six types: Quests have four difficulties (easy, medium, hard, epic) that multiply the XP reward.

XP & Skills

XP is earned on every completion. The amount depends on what you did, how hard it was, how consistently you’ve been doing it, and how well you can prove it. Skills form a tree: Health, Fitness, Strength; Mind, Focus, Learning. A quest can feed multiple skills. Each skill has its own level, separate from your overall character level.

Streaks

Consecutive completions build streaks. They have names and XP bonuses: Miss a day and your streak breaks, unless you have a streak shield, which absorbs one missed day and keeps the counter alive.

Proof

Every completion records a proof type. The better the proof, the more XP you earn: The Forge can generate multi-proof automatically by combining a running timer, a git commit, and a process check, with no extra steps from you.

Your AI Companion

The companion starts in observation mode and earns capabilities as trust increases. At its simplest, it answers questions and suggests quests. At its most capable, it can manage your schedule autonomously. See Your AI Companion for the full trust ladder and setup guide.
