Interactive wizard to configure the AI companion:

Select provider

Choose from: anthropic, openai, google, or ollama (local).

Enter API key

Paste your API key. For Ollama, enter the base URL instead (default: http://localhost:11434/v1).

Select model

Choose from available models for the selected provider.

Name your companion

Give your companion a name. This is used in the system prompt and chat interface.
Settings are saved to both ~/.grind/config and the companion_settings vault table.
